저는 스위스 제네바에 위치해 있는 긴급구호 NGO인 “Shelter Centre”에서 자원봉사를 하고 있는 류청규라고 합니다. 

혹시 귀 기관이 오는 11월 18일부터 30일까지 개최되는 아시아 지역 정기 컨퍼런스인 “Asia Shelter Forum”에 참여하시는것에 관심이 있으신지 여쭙고자 연락을 드립니다. 

이 컨퍼런스는 매년 아시아 지역을 순회하여 열리며, 금년에는 방글라데시의 다카에서 개최되며, 온라인 혹은 오프라인으로참여가 가능합니다.

본 컨퍼런스에는 여러 로컬 및 국제 긴급구호 전문가, 기관, 정부기구, 사기업, 기부단체들이 모여, 자연 재해 및 전쟁 상황 하에서의 긴급구호활동에 대한 경험과 지식을 공유합니다. 본 컨퍼런스는 기술적인 면과 협력강화에 주안점을 두므로, 아시아에 위치한, 주거사업을 진행하는 정부기구, 긴급구호기구, 국제개발기구, 그리고, 학계 등,  모든 단체들과 의 연대를 추구합니다.   

Shelter Centre는 Asia Shelter Forum을 대표하지는 않습니다만, 이 포럼은 제가 Shelter Centre에서 자원봉사를 하고있고 한국인이라는 사실을 알고 있으며, 관심을 가질 수 있는 한국의 관련 기관에 발송해달라는 요청을 받았기에, 본 비공식적초청장을 보내드립니다. 본 포럼을 통해 아시아-태평양 지역의 긴급 주거 사업과 관련된 조직적 협력을 강화하고, 현장에서의교훈을 공유할 수 있는 소중한 기회가 될 것으로 여겨집니다. 

네팔의 카트만두에서 개최된2021년 행사에는, 네팔, 방글라데시, 필리핀, 베트남, 인도네시아 정부를 포함하여, 574명의 대표자들이 87개의 국제 기구 및 국가 기관에서 참여하였으며,  200 여명이 포럼에 방문 참여해 주셨습니다.방글라데시 조직위원회는 올해 8-10개국의 정부기구의 참여를 예상하고 있습니다. 현재 포럼의 어젠다는 최종 조율단계에 있이며, 현장에서의조직적인 협력, 현장에서의 대응 능력, 긴급주거 분야의 최신 정보, 재난 복구, 친환경적이고 탄력적이며 포용적인 개발

, 현금 지원과 시장의 변화 등 다양한 분야의 주제들을 포함할 것입니다. 또한, 미국 정부의 인도주의적 사무국 (the Bureau of Humanitarian Affair) 역시, 앞서 거론된 한 분야에 대한 발표에 관심을 표현하였습니다. 이에, 귀 기관의 참여는 본 포럼에서의 토론을 더욱 풍성할 것이라 믿어 의심치 않습니다.

To whom it may concern, 

My name is Choungkyu RYU volunteering for the humanitarian NGO ‘Shelter Centre’, based in Geneva in Switzerland. 

I am contacting you to extend invitation if your agency might be interested in participating in the regular regional conference the ‘Asia Shelter Forum’, which will be held from 28th to 30th November, http://www.shelterforum.info/category/asia/. The event moves between Asian countries each year and this year the event will held in Dhaka in Bangladesh, however participants can also participate online. At the event, national, regional and international humanitarian practitioners, agencies, Regional Governments, private sector and donors share good practice in responding to disasters and conflicts. The events are collaborative and technical in nature. The Forum seeks to involve and support all practitioner and agencies in Asia which are involved in humanitarian shelter, including governments, humanitarian agencies, development agencies and academia in the region.

Shelter Centre does not represent the Asia Shelter Forum, however has been asked informally to extend invitations to agencies in Korea specifically which may be interested. 

The organizers of the Forum are aware that I am working with Shelter Centre and I am Korean, so they asked that I make a list of Korean humanitarian agencies and Practitioners who would be interested in reinforcing collaboration and coordination, sharing learnings and best practices and exploring pressing emergency shelter themes relevant to the Asia-Pacific Region. 

Last year, 574 representatives (including more than 200 in-person participants) from 87 international and national organization offices participated in Kathmandu, Nepal, including national-level representatives from five governments – Nepal, Bangladesh, Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia. This year, the Bangladesh organizing committee is hoping to increase government participation up to 8-10 countries.  While the agenda is in the process of being finalized, based on input from participating members, we expect that it will address a range of issues in the areas of: Coordination Mechanism and Local capacity, Shelter and Settlements Innovation, Shelter and Recovery Response, Green, Resilient and Inclusive Development (GRID), and Cash and Markets. Also, should the Bureau of Humanitarian Affair under the US government also be interested in presenting on a topic that falls within one of the areas above.

We believe that your participation will enrich the Asia Shelter Forum.
